Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog. I grew up in the hospitality industry and have always loved food. I didn’t really begin cooking until I met my husband, a very picky eater. Somehow, I combined my adventurous palate with his picky ways and have made us both happy. I live in Kennebunkport, ME with my husband, our daughter Caroline, our dogs and cat, and the occasional rescue foster dog. I grew up in New York and South Carolina, so my cooking influences reflect that. Cooking from scratch, using local, organic, and sustainable ingredients is what is most important to me and I try to introduce that in my cooking as much as possible.

About the Blog

The Way to His Heart has evolved over the years, just as my family has. Really, it’s should be named, “The Way to Their Hearts.” This blog contains some original recipes by myself, family members, and some great recipes I’ve found along the way. Really, the blog is about showing love through food. Nothing pleases me more than to feed my friends and family good food. I love food and being married to a man who loves to eat, but is picky, has made me really want to try new things to broaden his horizons. I’ve always loved fun, pretty food, but now that I’m a mother I try to really drive that home. If you make it pretty, they’ll eat it! Who wouldn’t? Most of my recipes can be served on a weeknight or for entertaining. I don’t view some recipes as “fancy” and others “comfort.” Good food is comforting, point blank.

  7. From Maine to Texas. My daughter just introduced me to your Mexican Stuffed Shells. I will be making it soon. She fixed it for her husband (empty nesters) and he ate them three nights running. He usually does not do “leftovers”.

  9. I was on another blog when I saw an ad for food buzz with your stir fried shrimp with spicy orange sauce on it. So I clicked on there and it looked absolutely amazing!!! I love shrimp, I could eat it for every meal and your recipe looks delicious. I am definitely going to make it. I was looking through your other recipes as well and they look wonderful too.       Thanks so much! My blog will never lack for shrimp recipes! I checked out your blog, I couldn’t resist with it titled “A NY Foodie.” I spent half of my life out on Long Island. Anyways, speaking of shrimp, those shrimp cakes look great!

      • Thanks….I stopped blogging cause my camera broke. I really should get another one and start it up again. The shrimp cakes were delicious and very easy to make.

Here’s an idea for you….a mixture of Maine and SC……Lobster and cheese grits, with a side of fiddleheads. Sprinkle pepper sauce (like on collards) on the greens Interesting concept.   13. Your blog is one of just three to which I subscribe and I know I visit yours the most…and often. I really enjoy your tips, your creativity, your inspiration and your recipes! I keep finding gems every time I pop onto your blog for ideas when I’m creating my grocery list or thinking of trying new things to prepare for the family. Since I usually require a recipe to even attempt to cook or bake, I’m learning so much from you. I love the fresh ingredients you use. It makes such a difference in the way food tastes and is important to me, especially when I’m feeding my little ones. Thank you for sharing your works with the world and inspiring me to cook more.
